On August 1, 2013, the Obama Administration launched a website which provides business owners with information about how the Affordable Care Act will impact their organization. The easily navigable site allows business owners to locate specific information based on the size and location of the business. The site focuses on the Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP) which will open on October 1, 2013, for health insurance plans providing coverage beginning on January 1, 2014. All businesses, regardless of size, should check the site to make sure they understand the changes.

At our Annual Meeting on June 6, we made good on our promise to celebrate those workplaces who met the highest bar for wellness excellence by recognizing you with a Gold Award. Workplaces that have an ‘A’ in any wellness topic are eligible for the highest level of recognition—the Gold Medal for Physical Activity, Gold Apple for Nutrition, and Gold Star for Tobacco.
